Health Minister Adrian Dix says the possibility of a second boost is on the agenda for today’s COVID-19 briefing with provincial health officer Dr. Bon Henry. Last week, Dix said the ministry is considering providing a fourth dose to people who are clinically vulnerable, such as those in long-term care. On Monday, Dix said the government would like more people to get their third COVID-19 vaccine, as current figures show that nearly 58 percent of eligible people aged 12 and over have received their booster. Henry announced last month that as of April 8, the BC vaccine card will no longer be needed for access to restaurants and other venues, and businesses can opt out of their COVID-19 security plans. The Ministry of Health said that there are 321 people in the hospital with COVID-19 and 36 of them are treated in the intensive care unit, a number that is higher than on Friday when 274 people were treated.
