The Lyon county sheriff’s office said it also seized a truck “possibly involved” in the disappearance of 18-year-old Naomi Orion, who has since launched a nationwide search. The suspect was identified by the sheriff’s office as Troy Driver, 41, of Fallon, Nevada. He is being held on the charge of kidnapping. Meanwhile, investigations into the missing teenager remain active, authorities said. The update comes almost two weeks after Irion’s disappearance. She was last seen in her car in the parking lot of a Walmart in Fernley, Nevada, outside Reno, according to the sheriff’s office. The surveillance video recorded a man getting in the driver’s seat of her car and leaving in an unknown direction with Irion in the passenger seat. The sheriff’s office initially described her disappearance as “suspicious in nature.” After locating her car March 15 in an industrial park about a mile from Walmart, the sheriff’s office said investigators had found evidence that her disappearance was “criminal in nature.” Authorities posted photos of 18-year-old Naomi Irion on the morning of March 12, 2022, when she was last seen. Investigators had previously located a Chevrolet truck whose driver thought it may have a “direct connection” to its current location, said the sheriff’s office, which released a picture of the vehicle and urged the public to help its location. The sheriff’s office also released several photos and a video of the man, authorities say, got into Irion’s car. He has a distinct gait that researchers hoped would help identify him. Detectives have not released a surveillance video showing the exact time the suspect got into Irion’s car, citing the nature of the ongoing investigation. According to her brother Casey Valley, who said he saw the video, Irion was sitting in the driver’s seat, but the suspect “said or did something to Naomi to get her moving”. Authorities believe this truck may be linked to the suspected disappearance of Naomi Irion. Irion was waiting for a bus on March 12 at around 5 a.m. to take her to work at Panasonic Energy in Reno, North America. Valley, who lives with Irion, reported her disappearance the next day when she never returned from work. Irion’s family has made many public appeals for her safe return. “We need the help of everyone across the country because the incident happened so close [Interstate] 80 “, said her mother, Diana Orion, during a press conference earlier this week. “It could be anywhere, anywhere in the nation.” “Save my daughter and bring her home,” he said.
