Javion Roman, from York, was arrested for the murder of Malaki Beady on Friday, March 25, according to an updated statement from the York City police. Beady, also from York, was found shot dead on West Maple Street 200 in York’s Penn Park on March 23, around 11 a.m., the York County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed in a statement Thursday. Beady was a senior at William Penn Senior High School – opposite the park where he was. The cause and manner of Beady’s death were also released on Friday, confirming that he had died from a head injury with a gunshot wound and that the manner of death was homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office. Roman has been charged with manslaughter, is being held without bail in New York County jail and his preliminary hearing is scheduled before the District Court on April 8 at 9 a.m., according to court records.
