The Tire Sampson family says the 14-year-old 6ft5 weighed 340 pounds, while the maximum weight for the FreeFall ride in ICON Park, Orlando, was 287 pounds, according to her manual. “Be careful when you see if big visitors fit in the seats. Check that they fit snugly against the seat and that the bracket fits snugly. “If not, do not let this person drive,” the manual states. The young man was killed while traveling to Florida on a spring trip with his football team from St. Louis, Missouri. His father, Yarnell Sampson, told MailOnline that his son was a “big guy” and was not allowed to take other walks in the park because of his size. “This particular walk said, ‘We can take you, come on!’ Go up!’ No one else allowed him to go for the ride, so I wonder what happened now and then when he made them say, “Come on, take this ride!” Mr Sampson told Fox35 last week. Mr Sampson added that Sampson said his son was an aspiring footballer who had a bright future. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the March 24 death and no criminal charges have been filed. The route, which only opened in December, remains closed as the investigation continues. An incident report, sent by road builders to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, stated that “the belt was still lowered and locked when the route stopped” and that Samson was out of place, according to CNN. The report states that Samson got out of his position when the magnets slow down the path during his descent, according to the news network. “We are not going to jump to conclusions until we are given the information and all the facts are known,” said Nikki Fried, FDACS Commissioner.
