Postcard research Kelowna residents are encouraged to contribute to the city’s indoor recreation strategy through a postcard survey that will be sent to households in the coming days. Work is underway to create a plan that will help guide the city’s investment in sports and leisure facilities over the next 10 to 20 years. “As Kelowna grows, we recognize that the need for leisure opportunities, organized sports and social networking is also increasing,” said Doug Nicholas, Director of Sports and Event Services. “Planning at this long-term, holistic level is vital to ensuring that resources are properly allocated and prioritized as we support our community’s leisure and sporting needs.” The city says understanding residents’ preferences for indoor leisure facilities is a key aspect of the strategy, in line with the capital priorities identified through investment infrastructure that prioritizes investments such as the replacement of the Parkinson Recreation Center or improvements. at the Capital News Center. Every household in the city will receive a coded postcard through the Canada Post. The code is required to access the survey, can only be filled in once per household and must be completed by 22 April. A parallel team survey will be available for sports and leisure partners to identify key amenities and space design needs. They are also provided for those who do not have a fixed address or are in the process of moving. If you have not received your password by post by April 10, you can contact us [email protected] request alternative access to research.
