Magsafe has brought an expanded operating dimension to Apple users, creating an ecosystem of accessories and components. The technology debuted in the iPhone 12 series in 2020 and thanks to its success, there are many third-party accessory manufacturers such as Anker, Mophie and Spigen that have created Magsafe-like features for Android devices as well. That said, mainly the magnetic freedom of wireless charging of smartphones, battery packs and other exciting features is still the prerogative of Apple iPhones. Designer: Andrea Tortone The Orbita modular system is a good example of another useful utility of Magsafe technology – giving the user the freedom to extend their personal workspace to the desktop or laptop without any hassle. The iPhone 13 becomes the second screen according to designer Andrea Tortone who developed this modular accessory for the MiLi. The Apple device can be oriented in any direction – vertical, horizontal or anything intermediate to have a productivity-focused approach. This is useful for receiving Zoom calls, answering calls, or viewing pop-up alerts while you’re working on an important project. The accessory is made of a 3 mm thick piece of aluminum for a light but sturdy shape. The focus of the product is on minimalism and clean appearance when placed on the desktop screen. The Orbita connects to the back of the screen, and then you can place the compatible Magsafe phone to move in any direction. Compared to most docks out there, the phone can be freely adjusted in any orientation and, when not required, can be placed out of sight, which is a great advantage with this intuitive accessory.
