Footage shows surprised passengers watching as an officer pushes the far-right activist against a wall in the luggage compartment before pulling out a pair of handcuffs as Robinson shouts, “What did I do?” In another clip, which appears to have been shot a little later, a second police officer has approached the 39-year-old, who continues to shout at the first police officer. You hear him shout “what are you doing?” and repeatedly calls another person to “be my witness” before being dragged through a door into a staff-only area. In a third video, Robinson asks why he was taken into custody, in which the officer says: “Because I was convinced you had breached security – that’s why.” Robinson accuses him of assault, to which he replies: “I have not assaulted you. “I acted within the law because I believed at the time that you had committed a crime.” The founder of the English Defense League (EDL) describes him as “the most aggressive police officer I have ever seen”, before telling him that he does not accept his apology and leaves. Robinson, whose real name is Steven Jaxley-Lennon, claimed on Saturday that he had been detained in Mexico and that he was “deported for national security reasons”. He was trying to visit the country on holiday with his children, despite declaring bankruptcy after being forced to pay 100 100,000 in compensation to a Syrian teenager whom he falsely accused of “violently attacking young English girls at his school”. Robinson is said to be facing jail time for contempt of court for failing to attend a Supreme Court hearing on his finances last week. He denied being arrested in a social media post on Sunday and there is no indication he has been charged with a criminal offense in the UK. After sharing footage of the fight at the airport, he begged his followers to send him money by posting a broken link that redirects users to a non-existent page on his site. In a later post, he appeared to be sitting elsewhere at the airport talking to the camera. Robinson begged his fans to send him money after the incident, but linked them to a non-existent website Robinson accused police of trying and failing to “lure me into a reaction to being arrested.” He claimed that an officer “grabbed me by the thread, tore my T-shirt, then pulled me by the back and did the same when they realized that there were too many witnesses”. Manchester Airport declined to comment, and Wider Manchester police did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Robinson had previously posted clips in which he claimed that Mexican police had refused to tell him why he was being held, saying to the camera: “I have never broken the law here. All I do at home is talk about Islam. “I never had a problem, I landed for something that is clearly a family vacation and I was arrested, detained and separated from my children.” In another clip, he complains that it is difficult for him to live in England because he cannot open a bank account or rent a house.
