Toronto Police Investigating After Body Found In Garbage Bag In City S East End

Insp.  David Correa said police received a call around 1:30 p.m.  by a community member who found the garbage bag on the sidewalk in the area of ​​Eastern and Berkshire Avenues, west of Leslie Street.
When police arrived, they found a dead body in the bag.
Korea said members of the 55th Department of Criminal Investigation, in consultation with the homicide unit, had launched an investigation into the sudden death.
An autopsy-necropsy will be performed to determine the cause of death, he said.
“At this stage, it is unknown who the suspect or suspects are,” Korea said.
Police remain in the area for several more hours to search the area for evidence and any information that could help the investigation, he added.
