UPDATE: 4:40 p.m. Traffic to the north is again on the Coquihalla motorway. A driver on the highway says that there are many plows on the road and the traffic is extremely slow. Traffic stopped northerly earlier this afternoon at Box Canyon due to rainy, snowy and muddy conditions. ORIGINAL: 4:15 p.m. The Coquihalla Motorway is closed to vehicles heading north between Hope and Merritt. A motorcyclist caught in the line tells Castanet News that she was told by flag bearers in Box Canyon that some vehicles up on the highway were slipping in wet, snowy conditions. Vehicles heading south are apparently still passing. Additional plows and grinders appear to be being sent to the highway to clear the road. Wet snow falls on the highway as planned throughout the weekend. A snowfall warning issued Monday morning predicted up to 40cm of snow to fall today and by Tuesday.
