He says that due to avalanche activity near the Albert Canyon, the highway is closed until further notice. Passengers are advised to stay at home or in the nearest town while crews work to clear the landslide and restore access to the Freeway 1. ORIGINAL 3:05 p.m. An avalanche closed the Trans-Canada motorway between Revelstoke and Golden. According to DriveBC, the evaluation is ongoing and there is no bypass available.
