Former President Donald Trump returns to the critical state of Georgia on Saturday to hold a campaign rally to support the candidates he has backed in the Peach State.
Among those who will speak at the Northeast Atlanta rally in Georgia Commerce will be the two Republican candidates at the top of Trump’s ticket – the former professional football star coming behind Herschel Walker, his clear-cut pre-election GOP in the Senate in Georgia. and former Sen. David Pardew, who with Trump backing is the main challenger to Republican Gov. Brian Kemp.
While Walker is often ahead of his GOP rivals in both opinion polls and fundraising to run in the November midterm elections against Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock, Perdue struggles with both key campaign counts as he struggles. to oust Kemp in the primary.

Perdue follows conservative governor in most recent opinion polls, including a March 2-6 Fox News poll that found Kemp ahead of Perdue by 11 points among Republicans likely to vote in the primary. of 24 May. The winner will face Democrat Stacey Abrams in November, who is running for governor for the second time in a row.
“I am proud to have the support of President Trump. With his help, we will defeat Kemp in May and Abrams in November and take back our state,” Perdue told Fox News.

Trump’s trip, first reported by Fox News earlier this month, will be the former president’s first since Sept. 25, when he held a rally in Perry, Georgia. Fourteen months away from the White House, the former president remains the Republican Party’s most popular and powerful politician, as he continues to play the role of king in the party’s primary and repeatedly teases another presidential candidate24.
“Whenever the former president – who is still very popular in the state and very popular with Republicans everywhere – devotes time to his program and goes down and campaigns with you, it will be useful. He will help activate the base,” Chip said. Lake, a veteran Republican adviser based in Georgia, told Fox News.

And Perdue’s campaign stressed that “as it sounds like Trump has backed Perdue, support for our campaign will continue to grow.”
However, Lake suggests the former president may be spreading to Georgia.
“With Trump backing so many candidates, he is reducing the other approvals,” Lake said. He added that the multiple approvals could confuse the “average Republican voter, even the one who loves Donald Trump.”
Four years ago, with Trump backing, Kemp narrowly defeated Abrams to win the governorship.

But Kemp has won Trump’s wrath since late 2020, after Keb confirmed Joe Biden’s narrow victory in Georgia in the presidential election after two recounts. Trump, who had unsuccessfully urged the governor and other top Republican officials in the state to overturn the results, has repeatedly promised to return to Georgia to campaign against Kemp. Trump for months urged Perdue to challenge the governor and late last year approved Perdue a day after the former senator presented his candidacy.
HAS THE SUPPORT OF TRUMP, SO BECAUSE DAVID PERDU IS FIGHTING AGAINST GOV. BRIAN KEMP?
Donald Trump Jr., the former president’s eldest child, worked with Perdue on the campaign earlier this month with stops in Cumming and Tifton. And Perdue raised $ 600,000 when he teamed up with Trump at a fundraiser at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, on March 16, according to a source familiar with the matter.
Trump has starred in a number of Perdie campaigns that are running across the country.
“David Perdy is a great man. He’s tough. He’s smart. He has my full and utmost support,” Trump said in one of the ads.

Perdue, a former CEO of the company before winning the 2014 Senate election, downgraded his position in opinion polls, telling reporters earlier this month: “We are exactly where we want to be right now. I like being the “I want this governor to answer a lot of questions. I’m the guy who in 2014, even in 2020, missed many of those polls.”
UNDER TRUMP ATTACK, KEMP RECEIVES AID
But opinion polls also show that Kemp remains popular among conservative voters.
“There is one thing that has been quite consistent, and that is that Brian Kemp’s favoritism and name remain remarkably strong throughout Donald Trump’s attacks,” a Georgia-based Republican general told Fox News. his anonymity. “Brian Kemp likes the conservative base very much despite what Donald Trump says.”
And Lake noted that “Perdue has a lot of work to do to fill this gap against an incumbent governor leaving a fairly successful legislative session.”

Walker will also be in the spotlight at Trump’s rally on Saturday. A recent Fox News poll found that Walker has 66% support among potential Republican voters, with his opponents running for office.

Walker, who won a Heisman Trophy and helped advance the University of Georgia to a national championship four decades ago, encouraged Trump for months last year to run in the race to challenge Warnock. And Walker was endorsed by the former president shortly after the jump in the race at the end of the summer. The race for the Georgian Senate is one of the few mid-November rallies that could decide whether Republicans will win a majority in parliament again.
Political secretaries do not attribute Walker’s lead to the Fox News poll and other recent polls solely in support of Trump.
The GOP general told Fox News that “Trump’s support is helping, but Hersel Walker is a legend here in Georgia and he is very nice.”

On the eve of Trump’s rally, Democrats in the state targeted the former president and his allies, as they focused on what they call the agenda “first Trump, last Georgians.”
MP Nikema Williams, chairman of the Democratic Party of Georgia, accused Friday that at the Trump rally “we can expect to hear more of these same lies and demystified conspiracy theories about 2020 and nothing about the issues that really matter and affect the daily life of Georgians. “
