The Transportation Safety Board (TSA) implements a “safer and more efficient” gender-neutral check-in procedure for passengers nationwide. The Federal Reserve announced Thursday that it has set new standards for trans, non-binary and non-compliant airline passengers at TSA checkpoints, which “will significantly enhance airport security and control procedures for all”, according to the report. This includes reducing the number of pat-down checks at national security checkpoints, eliminating gender when validating a traveler’s identity, and adding a gender-selective “X” option to TSA PreCheck applications.
