As shown in the screenshot shared by Jane Manchun Wong, part of the text from her old tweet is selected with on-screen options for copying, publishing or selecting the entire text. As well as when the feature is released, it should be very beneficial for Android users who are active on the platform and often need to copy text from their old tweets. Take a look at the screenshot attached to the tweet below.
Android users will be able to select text from tweets
Twitter has not had text selection for years and users have also found a way to bypass this restriction. Using the Overview Option, users can copy and paste text from any screen, including Twitter, so this feature is widely used to download text from Twitter. However, Esper senior technical editor Mishaal Rahman says Overview Selection is only available for some Android smartphones, including the Google Pixels. At this point, it is important to note that iOS users can already select, copy, and paste text from tweets. However, text selection for Android users may be available to more users in the near future. In related news, Twitter may be planning to charge for TweetDeck, making the feature paid. Until now, users could use the social media dashboard to manage their Twitter accounts. According to researcher Jane Manchun Wong, Twitter is working on a new registration page for TweetDeck. The researcher shared the registration page on Twitter that could be used for the service in the future. TweetDeck can become a paid feature that will only be available to Twitter Blue subscribers according to the code it has discovered. The code finds out if a user has a Twitter Blue subscription and if not, redirects them to the registration page.
