Derbyshire Police confirmed today (March 27th) that a 50-year-old woman and her dog died on the spot and a 50-year-old man riding a motorcycle died at the hospital late Saturday night with serious injuries. Both families are now supported by specialist officers. A spokesman for the force said: “Two people were killed in a collision on the A52 in Ashbourne yesterday (March 26). Emergency services were called to the scene, in which a motorcycle and a pedestrian were involved, shortly after 3 p.m. . He also unfortunately died later that night. “Both families receive support from specially trained officers. Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time. “We would like to hear from anyone in the area at the time who may have witnessed the collision or had footage from an instrument camera or CCTV.” The collision caused extremely heavy traffic in the area, with road works being carried out at that time in Ashbourne as well. Traffic was diverted to A517 Belper Road until the A52 reopened around 9pm on Saturday.
