Rico Burton, 31, died after being attacked outside a bar in Goose Green, Altrincham, Greater Manchester at 3am on Sunday. A 17-year-old boy was also attacked and remains in hospital with serious injuries. Police have launched a homicide investigation into the incident, which happened just hours after the world heavyweight boxing match between Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk. A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault in Ward 18 and remains in custody. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward. In a post on the social media site on Sunday morning, heavyweight champion Fury wrote: “My cousin was murdered last night, stabbed in the neck. This is being done by ridiculous knife-wielding idiots. Incidents of knife crime rose by 10% to 49,027 offenses in England and Wales in the year to March 2022, according to recent crime statistics.
