A mass accident was reported after the I-81 crash in Schuykill County on Monday morning.
The accident was reported shortly before 11 in the morning near exit 116 of the frozen interstate. The road has since reopened, less than two hours after the accident was reported.
Shortly after the accident was reported, Matt Catrillo, a reporter for a local radio station, wrote on Twitter that many vehicles were still burning and people had been trapped.
Hours later, around 1pm, officials at the scene said all rescue operations after the crash had been completed, except for an active cage, which has not yet been resolved.
Rescue officials said after the crash, emergency workers walked nearly six miles on an icy, snowy freeway to free motorists from their vehicles – many of which were on fire.
The cause of the collision is currently unknown, but the area was in heavy snowfall at the time of the collision and the drivers seen in the video recorded at the scene of the collision are heard complaining about the dangerous weather, which left the driver almost invisible . .
The shocking video recorded from the scene of the collision shows many trucks and cars crashing into a pile of damaged vehicles that have already blocked the road, due to the snow conditions that prevent drivers from seeing.

At one point in the video, as cars move along the ice by the force of multiple collisions, a person is almost hit by his own car after being hit by another vehicle that rolls over during the chaos.
The cars lose a bit of the driver, who leaves with several others in the forests that surround the highway.
“This is ridiculous,” said Mike Moye, who shot the clip on Facebook Live after facing the crash.
“It’s snow and fog mixed up and reduced visibility to zero,” the driver said of the dangerous conditions that most likely caused the accident.
“The S-t is on fire,” Moye said of the burning debris. “I have to get the king out of the way. Damn, that’s crazy. ”

Emergency correspondents at the scene confirmed reports of fire at the crash site and that several trucks were part of the stack. It is not yet clear exactly how many vehicles were involved in the accident.
Several planes have been called to the nearby Schuylkill county airport in response to the incident, local media reported, to transport survivors from the wreckage.
Apart from the statement of the officials for massive losses, there is no word yet about the exact number of dead in relation to the crash or the number of injured.
The collision closed all lanes between three road exits, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said on Twitter.
All traffic lanes were closed in the area for almost two hours. The road – currently covered in ice – serves as a common route for cross-country truckers heading north to Canada or back to the United States.
During this period, the collision reportedly pushed back traffic on the busy road for almost six miles.
The lanes to the north of the highway are still closed at mile 107, the WKOK local network said, while the section to the south of the road is closed at mile 124.
