Why are you eating your wedding cake a year later?

Saving the wedding cake for your first anniversary is a tradition that symbolizes good luck and prosperity for the newlyweds. The top tier of the cake should be frozen and then eaten on the couple’s first anniversary. How to maintain the top of your wedding cake:

  1. Immediately after the wedding, place the top tier of the cake in the freezer for a few hours to allow the outer layer of icing to freeze
  2. Next, loosely wrap the entire cake in freezer-safe plastic wrap. Cover every inch of the cake with plastic wrap, making sure no pieces are left exposed. This will help you avoid the dreaded freezer burn
  3. Once wrapped, place the tier into a cake tin (you can get these at a local craft store or ask your baker to provide one ahead of time.)
  4. Wrap the cake box with the same plastic wrap to seal it from moisture, air, etc.
  5. Finally, place the box in the back of the freezer for safekeeping Source: Brides.com Many said that if the situation happened to them, they would no longer speak to the guest, otherwise it would be difficult to forgive them. “The way we wouldn’t be on terms anymore,” admitted one person, while another wrote: “Straight away without friends.” A third said: “No please because I would never speak to you again.” “I would be absolutely disappointed,” added another.
