Officers were called shortly after 12.40pm to a house in the Old Swan area of the city and found a woman in the back garden of the property with injuries to her body consistent with gunshot wounds. The woman was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead and investigations are continuing to officially identify the woman and inform her next of kin. Detectives have launched an investigation into the killing with searches being carried out in the area.
