Emergency crews were called to the Lansdowne and Lappin avenues south of Dupont Street around 1:25 p.m. for reference to a woman who was on the street. Upon arrival, a woman in her 40s was found with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. “It’s not clear how he got on the road,” Insp said. Roger Caracciolo told reporters at the scene. “We think he was a pedestrian.” Caracciolo said police believe the woman was on the street when she was hit. He said a TTC vehicle was driving through Lansdowne Avenue and noticed something that looked like a bag in the middle of the road. The driver then returned to look again and found a woman. Police said they were working to determine what caused the woman’s death. Her identity is not yet known. The police call anyone who has information to contact them as an investigation is underway. The TTC has alerted passengers to a bus bypass in the area as police investigate. 47 Lansdowne: Bypass through Dupont St, Dufferin St and Bloor St W due to police activity. https://t.co/yo5GviVcg4 – @ TTCnotices
