Three days after winning the Naismith Player of the Year, Aliyah Boston showed exactly why she deserved the award, prevailing in a 72-59 victory over Louisville. Despite facing doubles and triples, Boston led South Carolina with 23 points, 18 rebounds and four assists. South Carolina will now have a chance to win its first national title since 2017. Louisville Emily Engstler had 18 points, nine rebounds and four steals in a masterful attempt to lose. UConn star Paige Bookers helped the Huskies beat Stanford, the reigning champions, 63-58, scoring 14 points, four rebounds and five assists. The Husky’s defense was just as crucial to victory as Stanford – who reached two points in the last minute but fell slightly – shot 35.4% off the pitch and made just 4 of their 23 three-point attempts. UConn will now be looking for its first national title since 2016 against South Carolina’s overall No. 1.
