Reports of problems with Yahoo Mail from the Down Detector shutdown screen have plummeted, indicating that anything that caused problems for users has now been resolved. ORIGINAL: Yahoo Mail reports are on the rise today with users in the UK reporting widespread issues with the popular email client. The independent Down Detector monitor recorded a sharp increase in Yahoo Mail reports that started after 7 p.m. UK time today. At the time of writing Down Detector, the UK has recorded a peak of almost 10,000 Yahoo Mail crash reports. According to Down Detector statistics, the vast majority of affected Yahoo Mail users experience connection problems as well as problems sending and receiving email. As the reported Yahoo Mail problems hit, users went to the social networking site Twitter to talk about the problems they were experiencing. Someone wrote on Twitter: “@yahoomail yahoo mail has expired and I can not log in or access my emails! Please sort as soon as possible.” Another posted: “Ugghh Yahoo Mail is down. I may have to swallow my pride and switch to Gmail.” One added: “Yahoo mail down.” Another wrote: “Yahoo Mail seems to be down.” When reports of the outage first surfaced, the official Yahoo Care Twitter support account was busy answering questions from troubled users tonight. Twitter @YahooCare asked affected Yahoo Mail users to send them more information and screenshots of the errors they received to help investigate the issue. Responding to an affected user, Yahoo Support Twitter posted: “Sorry to find out. Can you send me a DM with your Yahoo email address and a screenshot of the error message you receive?” Since then, Yahoo Care Twitter has issued a general comment confirming that the service has been hit with problems tonight for “certain” users. The @YahooCare account posted: “Some users have problems with Yahoo Mail. We are aware of this issue and are working to resolve it as soon as possible. “Thank you for your patience and understanding.” According to Down Detector UK, about two-thirds (64 percent) of affected Yahoo Mail users have problems logging in to the service, while 22 percent have problems receiving emails and 14 percent have problems sending messages.
